Honda CRX, bad AC bearing, can I remove the belt?

The best thing to do for your Honda CRX DX is repair the bearing, it's a 1 day job and you will feel comfortable for the next 5 years. Don't cut the belt, it design to moving other parts too. Other thing you can do is, follow a wire come out the compressor, you will find a wire connection to the a/c switch on the dashboard, disconnect the wire and the compressor will stop work even you set the temperature to the coldest. As long no load to the compressor, the bearing will stay off. What you see is only a pully not the bearing, if the magnet being connecting and shown by the middle of the pully is turning, this is the time that the bearing is start turning.
