Does 100fps ,make enough difference inthe field to worry about?

I want to shoot 200gr Accubonds out of a 308 or a 30/06. I have found data for 2571fps for the 308 and 2688fps for the 30/06. The BC is .588 so they carry out well. This, and the 3.5 less lbs. of recoil has me thinking 308 win. It also has a 24 inch barrel. so muzzle blast is not bad and it should help if a longer shot is encountered. What do you think? Thanks.
