Can i dye my white riding breeches?

i have a lot of white riding breeches and i'd really like to get colored ones to wear around the barn but i cant find any that aren't kids sizes. since i cant find adult sizes i thought i might dye a couple of never worn white pair maybe like a purple or bright blue. is it possible to do this? they don't have leather or sued they're solid cotton breeches. if its possible is there a certain brand of dye or certain way i should go about dying them? any help is greatly appreciated! thanks and happy trails :)
